EXPANDED CODE LIVE took place August 28-30, 2024, as part of the Bogotá Experimental Film Festival at Cinemateca De Bogotá, Colombia. This three-day showcase presented 8 cutting-edge audiovisual performances by both international Latin American and Colombian artists.
The program featured live sets by CNDSD (Mexico), EFE CE ELE (Colombia), Juan Pablo Ferlat (Argentina), Niebla (Colombia), Pablo E. Peña P. (Venezuela), RAF RAF (Colombia), Sebastian Gonzalez Dixon (Colombia), and SKULPTOR (USA).
Each performance demonstrated innovative approaches to live coding, new media technology, and contemporary digital culture, perfectly complementing the festival's week-long program of curated international experimental film screenings.
Beyond the performances, the event expanded access to digital art training through complimentary workshops designed for local Bogotá artists. Sessions included "Intro to Audio Reactive Visuals with MaxMSP" and "Unreal/TouchDesigner/OSC," specifically crafted for artists new to these technologies and looking to broaden their creative practice.
Hosted at Bogotá's prestigious Cinematheque, Expanded Code Live represented a significant moment for audiovisual art in Latin America, bringing together established and emerging voices in the live coding and digital art communities.
